أن تجارة المخدرات أصبحت رائجة في العراق بعد أحداث 2003، من جراء حالة الانفلات الأمني التي سادت البلاد حينها، وكانت تقارير دولية صدرت عن مكتب مكافحة المخدرات في الأمم المتحدة ، أشارت إلى أن العراق ليس فقط محطة ترانزيت لتهريب المخدرات من إيران وأفغانستان نحو دول الخليج العربي وانما بداء البعض بالتعاطي في غياب الرقابة التي كانت مفروضة سابقا حتى وصل عدد المتعاطين في العراق الى أكثر من (7000) .
That the drug trade is saleability in Iraq after the events of 2003, as a result of the lawlessness which prevailed in the country then, and the international reports released by the Office of Drug Control in the United Nations, pointed out that Iraq, not only transit station for drug trafficking from Iran and Afghanistan, to some countries in Persian Gulf, But some people become drug abusers in the absence of controls that were imposed previously until the number of users in Iraq to more than (7000) drug abusers .
